NMWA/THE ALIGNIST READING CLUB: LIFE IN CONFLICT

In Arabic, the word rawiya means “she who tells a story.” In a series of six reading club events curated by THE ALIGNIST and hosted by the National Museum of Women in the Arts (NMWA) in Washington, DC, participants will examine the multiplicity of stories from the greater Middle East -- and the multiplicity of ways in which they are told.

During this event, participants will view selected photograph from the She Who Tells A Story exhibit of photographs by women from the Middle East, read a short story written by a woman from the Middle East, and explore a non-fiction article that grounds the creative works in the lived realities of the region.

Events will feature artwork introductions by NMWA educators and facilitated discussions. After registering, participants will receive an email containing the program materials.
